Rev. Dr. Brian C. Oglesbee

Pastor, Collins Church

            Pastor Brian and his late wife, Patricia, have two wonderful daughters. Elizabeth is 38 years old with two sons, Cohen and Kaiden, and is currently a pharmacy tech. She is married to Dan Richardson.

Elizabeth graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Mary is 28 years old and graduated from Ravenna High School. She has two children, a daughter Lily and a son Daniel. Her fiancée is Thomas Winkler. Mary is the lead cashier at Ulta. Patricia was a teacher of students with cognitive and multiple disabilities for 27 years. She last taught with Crestwood Local Schools. Brian and Patricia were married for 22 years before she passed away in September 2005.

        Pastor Brian retired from public education in June 2007 after 30 years as an elementary principal. Throughout his career, he taught instrumental music in the Gallipolis City Schools and was an administrator in the Southeast Local Schools, the Streetsboro City Schools, and the Louisville City Schools.         

Pastor Brian has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the U. of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Ohio University, and a Master’s Degree in Christian Ministries from Malone College. In 2015, he graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Transformational Leadership from Ashland Theological Seminary. His dissertation is “Licensed Local Pastors – Values, Attitudes, and Attributes of Effective Leadership.”

Pastor Brian was an Ordained Elder in the East Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church but has moved his clergy orders to the Allegheny West Provisional Conference of the Global Methodist Church. He has served on the East Ohio Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministries, the Firelands District Committee on Lay Servant Ministries, and the District Committee on Ministry. He was also Chair of the Order of Elders for the Board of Ministry for four years in the East Ohio Conference. He previously served for seven years as pastor of the Charlestown United Methodist Church and for ten years as pastor of the Norwalk First UMC before retiring in June 2023. Pastor Brian is looking forward to leading and growing Collins Church in faithfulness to God, Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
